Generating potentials via difference equations

چکیده

The condition for pressure isotropy, for spherically symmetric gravitational fields with charged and uncharged matter, is reduced to a recurrence equation with variable, rational coefficients. This difference equation is solved in general using mathematical induction leading to an exact solution to the Einstein field equations which extends the isotropic model of John and Maharaj. The metric functions, energy density and pressure are well behaved which suggests that this model could be used to describe a relativistic sphere. The model admits a barotropic equation of state which approximates a polytrope close to the stellar centre. AMS Classification numbers: 83C15; 83C22; 85A99

Convection in a Tilted Square Enclosure with Various Boundary Conditions and Having Heat Generating Solid Body at its Center

In this study free convection flow and heat transfer of a fluid inside a tilted square enclosure having heat conducting and generating solid body positioned in the center of the enclosure with various thermal boundary conditions has been investigated numerically. The governing equations are transformed into non-dimensional form and the resulting partial differential equations are solved by Fini...

Asymptotic Results for Super-brownian Motions and Semilinear Differential Equations

Limit laws for three-dimensional super-Brownian motion are derived, conditioned on survival up to a large time. A large deviation principle is proved for the joint behavior of occupation times and their difference. These are done via analyzing the generating function and exploiting a connection between probability and differential/integral equations.

2 00 5 Darboux - covariant differential - difference operators and dressing chains

The general approach to chain equations derivation for the function generated by a Miura transformation analog is developing to account evolution (second Lax equation) and illustrated for Sturm-Liouville differential and difference operators. Polynomial differential operators case is investigated. Covariant sets of potentials are introduced by a periodic chain closure. The symmetry of the syste...

We present pointwise gradient bounds for solutions to p-Laplacean type non-homogeneous equations employing non-linear Wolff type potentials, and then prove similar bounds, via suitable caloric potentials, for solutions to parabolic equations.
